Tables

There's a lot of discussion about tables on the web designer forums. Tables got introduced into HTML long ago, and almost as long they got abused for a purpose they were never intended for: Design, positioning of elements, layout of full pages.
Tables are for tabular presentation of data! You shouldn't use a table to place footers and headers on pages, and things like that.
With that in mind, let me assure you that tables are perfectly okay in an XHTML/CSS environment - for presentation of data.
